LIVING WATERS
For the proclamation of the Gospel and the edification of the Body of Christ
When We See
"Wherefore, O King Agrippa, I was not rebellious to the heavenly vision" (Acts 26:19).
That ray of light from heaven was what led Paul to consecrate himself for his entire life. Obedience was the fruit of the vision. While it is true that any consecration to God is something precious to him, a blind dedication may not be of much use to him.
I believe that there is a difference between that initial and pure dedication, but not instructed, that follows our conversion and that act of giving ourselves that arises as the fruit of a vision of God's plan.
Regarding the first, based as such on our salvation, God may not immediately make very severe demands. But when he opens his heart to reveal to us what he wants done, and when after asking for our disposition, he receives our prompt response, then his demands intensify.
We have given our word on the basis of a new understanding, and he accepts us once again according to our word. From then on, everything we have must be subject to him forever. (Watchman Nee).
